Angela Stones Former headteacher Angela Stones was appointed to the Council in September 2005 through the public appointment process. She sits on the Executive Committee and is the Lead Member for communications. |

Angela was the headteacher of a large, successful Nursery School in Hull until her retirement in August 2006. The school was designated a Children’s Centre in 2005 linking with Social Services, Health, Surestart and Hull College of Further Education and Angela remains involved in this through the Limited Company running the extended nursery. This is a very challenging but exciting agenda with high quality education led by teachers at its core. Angela works closely with the head of the adjacent primary school to develop extended school facilities.
She received an OBE in the 2005 New Year’s Honours for her work in early years education.
Angela is now working part time for the University of Hull as a lecturer/assessor on the Early Years Professional Status course.
