Jean Scott Senior Policy Adviser Jean Scott was appointed to the Council by public appointments process in September 2005. She sits on the Audit Monitoring and Review Committee. |
|
Jean has 15 years experience of school governance, having been a parent governor in both primary and secondary schools. In that time she has served as Chair of Governors and Chair of Personnel and Curriculum Committee. She has recently been asked by the LA to Chair a Temporary governing body bringing together two schools to create a new primary school.
Jean is Head of Policy at the National College for School Leadership.
She also has considerable experience of the voluntary childcare sector, having worked for a number of years for a national organisation promoting and developing out of school care. While she was there her eldest son (then seven years old) was the first child to appear before a Parliamentary Committee, describing the benefits of his ‘out of school’ club to MPs.
Jean is married with three children and three step-children.
