We want all learners to receive the best education possible, served by a well-trained and representative workforce. However, some black and minority ethnic learners fail to reach their potential, and teaching does not attract, retain and make the most of black and minority ethnic staff. We also know that schools across the country are being stretched to meet the requirements of the Race Relations Act (2000 Amendment). Achieve will build a positive learning dialogue that puts race equality issues into the mainstream, and hence provide schools with the capacity to face these challenges and celebrate their successes.

All members of Achieve receive a termly electronic newsletter packed with information on the work of the GTC and our partners on race equality in schools. Through the newsletter, you can join one or more of the Achieve project groups. In these you can look deeper into particular areas of work. You can share good practice and develop ideas to support the whole network and influence the teaching profession and policy makers. Black and minority ethnic teachers and teaching assistants can also join the Achieve on-line forum to exchange ideas and experience about their own professional development.
