The CD is designed to auto-run when it is inserted. This may take several seconds to activate, so please be patient. Some computers do not allow CDs to auto-run when they are inserted, or have this function disabled, so if nothing has happened for several seconds, this is probably the case.

If you experience this problem, you can make the CD run manually. If you have not run the program before on a particular PC, go to the 'Run' command from the Windows start button, type D:\setup.exe into the box (or browse for it) and press OK.

A dialogue box will appear asking if you wish to start the CD-ROM. Press OK. The first time you run the CD, it will install the Microsoft .NET framework on your computer. This can take several minutes, during which time a dialogue box will be on screen. You can cancel during this operation, in which case you will need to repeat this step to install the .NET framework next time. When the .NET framework has installed, the application will start up automatically.

Once the .NET framework has been installed, then every other time you use the CD, you can activate it by going to the 'Run' command from the Windows start button, type D:\LA_CD.exe into the box (or browse for it) and press OK.

The setup program must check many things on your computer whilst it is installing the .NET framework, and it can take some time (perhaps 5 minutes). Please be patient. This set-up only needs to happen once on the computer. Subsequent insertions of the CD will start the application immediately.

Leave the setting as 'Delimited' and click 'Next'.

Highlight the checkbox next to the word 'Comma'. Then click 'Next' and then 'Finish'.

The data should now be in separate columns. Close the current file, then browse to the csv file and double-click again to open it.

It should now open up in the correct columns.
