Data protection

The General Teaching Council for England (GTC) is a data controller under the terms of the Data Protection Act 1998.
The GTC processes personal data in order to fulfill its remit and legal obligations, and for the purpose of keeping you informed of the progress of any GTC networks to which you may belong or any online forums in which you may participate. The data will not be passed to any third parties except those fulfilling a service on behalf of and under the express instructions of the GTC.

- registration record including: how a teacher can obtain their individual record
- employer access to teacher records, including: what information employers have access to. NB the public can only be told whether or not a teacher is registered.
