The Fawcett Society Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Women in the UK
The Fawcett Society campaigns for equality between women and men. This publication is the first they have produced focusing exclusively on the position of BME women in the UK.
The chapter on education considers the factors contributing to the varying achievement levels of girls from different ethnic groups. The report warns against focusing on the ‘gender gap’ in education without considering the existence of the larger ‘race gap’.
