GTC registration fee pegged at £33 for 2007

Council has decided that the GTC registration fee should remain at £33 for the year 1 April 2007 to 31 March 2008 (24 Jan 2007).

Council met on 23 January to approve the programme of activity and the budget for next year.  Key priorities include pressing the case for a radical change in pupil assessment; supporting teachers’ access to high quality continuing professional development; shortening the time taken to conclude disciplinary cases; extending participation in the GTC Teacher Learning Academy and preparing for the 2008 Council elections. The Council’s corporate plan will be published at the beginning of April.

Teachers, other than some supply teachers, receive an allowance of £33 from their employer which offsets the cost of the registration fee.  For more information on this, go to the Fee FAQs page.
