The GTC would like to advise of a series of malicious, falsified letters that have been sent to several schools in England in recent weeks.
Each of the hoax letters, purporting to come from the Registrar for the General Teaching Council for England (GTC), refers to the wholly fabricated introduction of unannounced Ofsted inspections. At first glance the letters may appear legitimate but they have been written and sent without the knowledge of Ofsted or the GTC.
If your school has received a similar letter please be assured that it is a hoax and a malicious attempt to destabilise schools.
Although the GTC enjoys a positive working relationship with Ofsted, we have no plans or intentions to undertake any joint work or school inspections.
