Code of Conduct and Practice for Registered Teachers

The revised Code of Conduct and Practice for Registered Teachers was approved by GTC Council in July 2009 and came into effect on 1 October 2009. Instead of describing the unacceptable it sets out a shared picture of teacher professionalism. The Code's purpose is to guide teachers' everyday judgements and actions and provide the GTC with principles to use in regulating the profession.
