DCSF: Considering Pupils’ Views

The GTC's response to a consultation by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF).

The GTC welcomes the direction of government policy to promote pupils’ stake in their own education. The Council therefore supports proposals for schools to engage and involve children and young people in school equality schemes and policies, and in school curriculum policies.

However, it is important that this commitment should be carried through into shaping and directing pupils’ learning, rather than just being a minimum requirement that must be met by schools.
