Registered teachers who are no longer employed in the teaching profession can de-register from the GTC. Employed teachers in the following areas are not required to register with the GTC: teachers working as home tutors; teachers working in outdoor education centres; teachers working in the independent sector or further or higher education; and qualified teachers in non-maintained nursery schools.
