This section gives essential information for teachers about the GTC Register and the registration process.
We urge all teachers to keep their registration details up to date. This will help to assure employers and the public that the GTC Register is accurate, robust and comprehensive. It also means we can send essential information such as the annual fee notice to the correct address.
If you are currently training as a teacher, the GTC will ask you (through your training provider) to confirm your contact details in the spring term of your final year. We can then send you your QTS certificate (subject to completing all the requirements), and register you if you take up an appointment.
For information about teacher training and the competences required for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), visit to the website of the Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA).
