Obtaining QTS |
Proposed new regulations due to be introduced from 1 September 2008 will require anyone commencing a course of initial teacher training (ITT) in England leading to the award of Qualified Teacher Status to be provisionally registered with the GTC. The new regulations will be subject to full consultation.
Students will need to complete a suitability declaration enabling the Council to identify any matters which could impede registration.
Provisional registration will bring trainee teachers into the regulatory framework along with fully registered teachers.
