Engaging with Parents: Inter-Professional Working

Becoming a Teacher

University of Leeds, the University of Nottingham and MORI   |   current

This is a longitudinal study of new entrants to the profession, co-sponsored by the GTC, in partnership with the DfES and the Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA).

The research is conducted by the University of Leeds, the University of Nottingham and MORI. The project runs from 2003 to 2009.

Older teachers

This study focussed on the way the professional expertise of older teachers is supported and utilised, in the context of the overall age profile of the profession. The project was co-sponsored by the GTC in partnership with SAGA and conducted by a research team from the Centre for Education, Leadership and School Improvement (CELSI).

Mature entrants to the profession

Open University   |   July 2004

This study of the early employment experiences of mature entrants to the profession was co-sponsored by the GTC and the Open University. The work is ongoing but various papers have been published.
