Research of the Month (RoM)

Bringing teachers and research together

Welcome to the Research of the Month section of the website. Here you will find a series of summaries of research topics, which we think will be of direct interest to teachers. We hope the format and content will enable teachers to decide quickly if the research is interesting and relevant to them.

What is a RoM?

For each topic, a team from the Centre for the Use of Research and Evidence in Education (CUREE) has appraised, selected and summarised one or more published research studies and presented teacher case studies to illustrate the findings.

Each RoM is presented and structured according to a series of questions, which are designed to bring out the messages for teachers. The appraisal framework, which the RoM team developed as part of its procedure for selecting research, is available on a related page.

There is a complete list of research topics by theme on our page about RoM.

CPD coordinators can access active learning resources to help them introduce colleagues to some of these RoMs in more depth.
