The GTC commissioned the National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER) to conduct its second annual survey of teachers. This survey follows on from the 2004 survey, and ensures that GTC advice to policy-makers is based on the reality of teachers’ experiences.
The 2005 survey asked teachers for their views on several aspects of their professional experience, including continuing professional development, personalised learning, assessment and developments in education.
The survey, conducted on a representative sample of registered teachers, drew a 42 per cent response rate.
