The Code: New or revised?

Technically, the Code is a revision of our 2004 code. However, we have entirely changed the nature of the Code, from negatively-worded to positively-worded, and to all intents and purposes the central ‘eight principles’ are new content. The section on the disciplinary use of the Code is similar to its predecessor, and the introduction is new.

What we have not done, however, is to change the basis on which we will regulate the profession. We want continuity between the decisions we have made in the past and those our committees will make in the future.
