Review:
The DfES outlines strategies and policies on aspects of behaviour management and highlights training courses and support materials for teachers. The website also provides detailed information on key aspects such as providing alternatives to mainstream schooling.

Behaviour in Schools: Framework for Intervention

Description:
A ‘preventative’ approach to managing pupil behaviour that focuses on the school teaching environment as key to positive teacher-pupil relations.

Review:
As well as numerous documents available to download, the website suggests a number of professional courses, ranging from behaviour theory, to behaviour during playtimes and lunches. The project, which identifies core principles such as environmental change, is being fully piloted by schools in Birmingham and Norway.

The government’s official policies on promoting positive classroom behaviour.

Review:
An impressive collection of documents, leaflets, checklists and contacts on many aspects of pupil behaviour and bullying. The website features case studies of actual schools that are tackling behaviour problems. There's also a good assortment of pupil referral forms that teachers may find useful.

Teachernet: Behaviour and Attendance

Practical tips and guidance on a good selection of common behavioural issues.

Review:
Compiled by the DfES, this site offers brilliant tips on a whole range of behaviour and attendance issues such as abusive language, bullying, homophobia and truancy. There are features commissioned articles by experts, as well as detailed factsheets and a whole series of school case studies. Extremely worthwhile.
