Daily details of the Prime Minister’s working life can be viewed here, with latest news from each area of government. There’s a section covering education and culture news. History, politics and citizenship teachers will find the history sections, details of the members of the Cabinet and the virtual tour useful teaching tools. Plus there’s a facility to email the PM – the website states that every message is read.

Portal for European parliament law and developments in the education sector.

Review:
Visit this site for a round-up of European parliament developments in education and training. There’s an overview of initiatives (look in the ‘education’ section in ‘summaries’) of schemes such as the European Year of Languages 2001, secondary school twinning and the SOCRATES programme to promote lifelong learning. It can be confusing differentiating between projects by the European Parliament, Commission and Council.

Review:
Published by the DfES, Teachernet offers resource materials and lesson plans to teachers to support government initiatives. They cover both primary and secondary education. There’s also advice on professional development, good practice details on pastoral care and an overview of the government’s strategy for education in England.
